FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Our accommodation services support NDIS participants with a range of support needs, from those looking for a short break away from their usual environment, to participants needing stable transitional housing or longer-term supported living.

Suitability depends on your goals, funding, support requirements, and, where accommodation is shared, how you’d fit within a shared living environment. Our team works closely with you and your Support Coordinator to find the right match across our STR, MTA, and SIL options.

Length of stay depends on the type of accommodation and your NDIS funding:

  • STR (Short-Term Respite): Generally funded for up to 28 days per year, with individual stays of up to 14 days at a time.
  • MTA (Medium-Term Accommodation): Temporary accommodation while you wait for your long-term housing solution – typically up to 90 days, depending on your plan.
  • SIL (Supported Independent Living): Ongoing, longer-term accommodation with daily support included.

All arrangements are tailored to your NDIS plan and individual circumstances.

Support is delivered in line with your approved NDIS plan and individual needs. Depending on your situation, this may include assistance with personal care, daily living tasks, medication support, meal preparation, skill development, and community participation.

In SIL homes, supports are typically ongoing and structured around each resident’s routine. In STR and MTA, supports are tailored to the length and purpose of your stay.

For shared accommodation, we carefully assess compatibility to make sure residents are well matched. This may include reviewing support needs, daily routines, communication styles, and personal preferences.

We take this seriously because the right match makes a real difference to everyone’s experience. Our goal is a home where all residents feel safe, respected, and genuinely at ease.

Getting started is straightforward. Reach out to our team by phone, email or referral form to have an initial conversation about your needs and what’s available. There’s no obligation, it’s just a chance for us to understand your situation and answer any questions.

From there, we’ll guide you through a simple process:

  • Initial chat to discuss your goals, funding, and support needs
  • Review of your NDIS plan and any relevant assessments
  • Compatibility check for shared homes (where applicable)
  • Confirmation of accommodation and support arrangements

We aim to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Contact us today, we’d love to hear from you!

Personal pets are generally not permitted in our accommodation properties, as we must consider the health, safety, and compatibility of all residents.

Assistance animals are always welcome with appropriate documentation, as they are recognised supports under the NDIS and the Disability Discrimination Act.

Smoking is not permitted inside any of our properties. In some properties, smoking may be allowed in designated outdoor areas, in line with house rules and safety requirements.

This policy is in place to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all residents and staff.

Absolutely! We strongly encourage participants to maintain meaningful connections with family and friends.

Visitors are welcome during reasonable hours, provided visits respect the privacy, safety, and routines of other residents.

The funding required depends on the type of accommodation:

  • Short-Term Respite (STR): Typically funded through your Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life.
  • Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA): Requires specific MTA funding approved in your NDIS plan. MTA is generally available for up to 90 days while you are waiting for your long-term housing solution.
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL): Requires SIL/Home & Living funding outlined in your plan, following a formal assessment and approval process.

Our team can work with you, your Support Coordinator, and your NDIS planner to confirm whether the appropriate supports are included in your plan.
